Expanding Oneself...One Experience At A Time

I love new experiences.They nourish my soul...like they make me feel alive in a way that simple day to day motion does not.My desire for new experiences has taken me all over the world, and served me well.  I've been fortunate enough to have had a multitude of experiences that many even older than me haven't.And when you had a desire for new experiences with a little dose of courage, there's not much you can't do.  I suppose it is this mix that took me to my first session as a nude model.So let me explain...A friend of mine did a gig recently as a new model.  The sponsoring artists mentioned that they were interested in various body types.  She also knows that I have no problem being naked in front of people, being a frequent enjoyer of the World Naked Bike Ride.However, I will say that it's definitely different when you are the only naked person.However, the artists I worked with were awesome.So, there's an artist collective here in Chicago, known as AnySquared Projects, located at the Anywhere Space.As stated on the AnySquared Projects website:

To sum it up...it's a really cool place, full of really cool people, doing really cool stuff...art to be more specifically.  Off the top of my head, I know there is Figure Drawing Tuesday, and Open Art on Wednesday. They do work in the community and with youth as well.  Lots going on.Needless to say I was nervous going in.  I think that's natural when you're going into a place you've never been, with people you've never met, with the intent of taking your clothes off.But they were awesome.  Very personable and pleasant people who immediately put me at ease, and walked me through another first-time experience.If you're an artist in Chicago, I encourage you to check Anysquared Projects out.  You can check them out on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.
