Still Shaking...Maybe a Little Smitten

Hey everyone! Finally finding a moment to get on here and update. Life has ben running along.  It feels like I've been working a lot, and I've definitely been training (Brazilian Jiu Jits) lots. Actually, my arms right this moment are super sore... like, way more sore than arms should be. :-/Anywho...I had date #2 with Kim. Those of you who read My Hands Are Shaking will recall she was the old friend that I went on a first date with.  I've had a crush on her for years.I was uber excited. Kim suggested that we go to an American tapas place that she’d heard of but never been to. So, I met Kay at her house, and we set out for the restaurant.Let me start by saying that the moment I saw Kim, I said “Wow” in my head. I’d never seen her dressed sexily, and while she wasn’t dressed salaciously, but she looked amazing. She was wearing a black and red dress, and black knee high boots. Her hair was also super cute, with what I know think of as her trademark black lace headbands. So, Kim drove to the restaurant. Our conversation was easy flowing and pleasant, with lots of laughter. So, we got to the restaurant. Let me say, this place was awesome. If you ever find yourself in Frankfort, IL. I highly recommend you check out The Dancing Marlin. Outstanding! That’s all I can say.We ate, we laughed, we talked. I must say that I’m immensely enjoying getting to know Kim better…on a deeper level. She is such a deep thinker, and has such interesting views on the world. I wouldn’t say that Kim and I are opposites, but we are definitely different in many ways. I’m definitely more extroverted, but we also share similar views on many things, and are both self-proclaimed geeks.During dinner, Kim noticed a business in the strip mall across the street. However, due to tree branches, she could only see the last 4 letters of their sign, “MICS”. She said “Maybe it’s a ceramics store…or maybe a comics store.” I suggested that after we were done at the restaurant, we should go find out.Following our amazing meal, we headed out to explore. The store turned out to be a comic book store. So we looked around, laughing, talking, I danced, and we checked out everything. Kim actually ended up buying a party trivia game named "Geek Out” which was extremely fitting. So, the first hiccup of the date came on the way back to Kim’s house. We were riding back, listening to music when I suddenly asked her “Have you felt awkward at all about us “dating”?“God yes! It’s almost like dating my brother!”Well that certainly knocked the wind out of my sails. A little awkward? Yes. Like dating my sister?NO!So at that point, I was a little poopy faced. We got back to her place, and her son was home. We sat and chatted with him, and I even played his video game a bit. We talked movies, etc.So, she began yawning, and I excused myself for the evening. We got outside, and I thought, “Look bro…just be you!”And I said “Are you physically attracted to me at all?”She said “Oh yeah, very much so”. Well, that was reassuring and I just told her the truth.“I really like you. I have for a long time. I’m really enjoying getting to know you better, spending more time with you, and if we aren’t going to date, I don’t want it to be because of awkwardness, rather it be because we’re simply not right for each other.”She was very open and accepting, and shared her feelings with me. We agreed that we would have a third date.  We even kissed. It was a very tentative kiss….which should have told me something……but we’ll get to that later.
